Last July, Olivia Moore, daughter of Production & Human Resources Manager Michael Moore, hosted a lemonade stand in front of her grandparents' home in Stow to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Olivia, then 4, lost her great-aunt to cancer last April and wanted to do something to raise awareness and support in the ongoing fight against cancer.

Olivia worked very hard in preparation and manning the lemonade stand, which was built by her grandfather years ago. The family came together in support, repainted the stand, and donated most of the supplies and their time. Approximately 50 donors stopped by the stand, raising nearly $850 in just one day. "Some would stick in a $20 bill instead of a quarter, while others would empty out all the change in their cars," said Amanda Ebling, Olivia's mother.

The charity is named after a 4-year-old cancer patient named Alexandra "Alex" Scott. In 2000, she begain raising money for cancer research by holding a lemonade stand in her front yard annually. She raised more than $1 million before passing away in 2004. The organization has grown nationally, and has since raised more than $20 million for children's cancer research.
