Carrara Companies, specializing in construction, restoration and cleaning services, raised $5,000 — its largest sum to date — during its 4th Annual Charity Summer Classic, held June 12 at Roses Run Country Club in Stow. All proceeds from this year’s golf outing benefited families served by Community Services of Stark County Inc., a nonprofit agency dedicated to finding permanent homes and families for children in need.
“Each year, it is our mission for the golf outing to present both a fun and challenging event while supporting a worthwhile cause, and this year was no different,” says Justin Sucato, Carrara Companies president and owner. “We were thrilled to present this check to a charity who has directly assisted a Carrara Companies employee in the past year.”
Hosted by Steamatic by Carrara (a division of Carrara Companies), the event raised money through seven available sponsorships and the sale of raffle tickets in exchange for door prizes, including TaylorMade golf clubs, and framed and autographed pictures of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
Kicking off the event at 7:30 a.m. was a breakfast, with golf beginning at 9:30 a.m. Throughout the day, golf skills contests, including closet to the pin and longest drive competitions, were held, as well as free golf lessons by certified teaching professional Rick Zivsak. Later, a dinner and awards ceremony was held to honor the golf outing’s major sponsors: Galloway Construction, DKS Dry Cleaners, Joseph and Joan Fernandez, Cintas, RSVP Ohio, Safelite Auto Glass, Proforma, Dunkin Donuts and Bruegger’s Bagels.
